Abstract
Abstract

The availability of the water resource in a catchment depends upon the integrity of the land use, terrain and meteorological parameters such as rainfall, temperature, etc. KRS Catchment in the Cauvery basin covers an area of 10,957 Km2 was taken up for the study. The study was conducted in order to understand the changes of Land use /Land cover and their impacts on the watershed and to estimates the runoff calculation using SCS-CN method, which is mainly used for estimating infiltration characteristics of the watershed, based on the land use property and soil property and it is widely used as a simple method for predicting direct runoff volume for a given rainfall event.

Abstract
Abstract

Academic freedom is considered to be one of the most important pillars of educational institutions. It is a prerequisite for quality education and essential for complete development of human personality. However, what is a matter of genuine concern is that academic freedom has been subjected to constant restraint from both governmental and non- governmental entities. This is shrinking space of academic freedom and is detrimental to overall cultural health of the society tarnishing reputation of the country internationally. Violation of academic freedom also leads to breach of human right as both are interlinked with one another and protection of human right is only possible if it is accompanied with academic freedom.

Abstract
Abstract

The project focuses on the design and production of a ground floor crane fitted with a load locking unit at any level as a special feature, to address the problem of failure due to a fixed load. The mobile crane is designed to carry a maximum load of about 5 kg, and a counterweight of 50 kg. The materials used are; sheet metal, profile bars, bolts, nuts, metal rolls etc. Processing procedures include cutting, filling, welding and assembling. For permanent contact, the arc welding process was used. As mentioned earlier, a ground floor crane gains its value in the transport of heavy machine parts inside and outside the workspace. It can also be used to load and unload machine parts onto trucks.
